dapples

for months, literally, i have been searching for this perfect spot.  i wanted blossoms (or at least pretty trees), a pretty colored wall, and direct sunlight for dapples.  i just about died of happiness when i found it the other day.  in a bank parking lot.  symmetrical arching trees, pink blossoms and dramatic light.  i was in heaven!  i love when wrong light is oh-so-right.
yesterday, after a lazy morning of finding and eating eggs, easter basket candy and luxurious naps, we took the kids to get these photos, with the promise of hot chocolate if the kids let me photo them.  lols cooperated completely, as you can see.  muller, not so much.  he spent the entire time running with sticks and chasing spiders and pretending he was a pirate and refusing to let me take his pic.  that stinker!  sometimes no bribe will do.
i also played around with my new lensbaby.  it's a tricky lens.  i rarely get exactly what i was envisioning (i think a cooperative eight year old girl might be easier than a two year old boy?  kelsey, what say you?) but i am loving the mistakes.  dreamy and blurry with that hint of focus.
so, i guess my point is this.  next time i tell you to meet me at a bank parking lot in direct sun, which pretty much no sane photographer would ever tell you to do, just trust me!  xoxo
