sweet, spirited, leilani... gave herself a haircut and her mom was cool enough to schedule photos of it! which i was so happy to do for her, because these photos are so leilani. in this moment. right now (because there's no better time than right now).
this january morning we had planned an indoor session but when i got to the house the sun was shining gloriously on the hill down the street. i mean, really, it was forty degrees out and the sun was blasting in sideways over the hill, the reflexion blinding off the frost on the grass. we scrambled to find hats and boots and ran out into the frost. these aren't your normal perfect-little-shady-spot-with-a-reflector portraits and that's why i love them. i also love duncan tromping through the grass like a baby t-rex.
